Breakfast Club

On 2^nd June this year at 7.30 a small group of volunteers met, toast was toasted, kettles boiled and we waited to see if any young people from our neighbouring high school would come to our new breakfast club. 

The Breakfast Club had been a long held vision of a handful of members of the church, and following on from conversations with one of the deputy heads of the school we decided to take the plunge, supported by Morrissons Supermarket and the St Hilda’s Trust we waited in prayer and hope.

On the first week four came, then a different four, then 8, 10, more and more until the week before the school broke up we had 22young people chatting, drinking hot chocolate and eating toast.

Things we have learned, white bread is more popular than brown, only Rev sarah eats Marmite, almost everyone loves Biscoff, flapjacks are more popular than bananas and the young people from George Stephenson and very polite and friendly!

We are so happy we took the plunge and are looking forward to seeing who God will bring through our doors next term.
